The club serves the interests and goals of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science through offering an environment for tutoring, networking, and learning with a focus on the the fields of mathematics and computer science.

Any Elizabeth City State University student can join the Pi Byte Club as long as a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 is maintained by the student. Pi Byte is focused on computer science and mathematics, and is not obligated to develop or host activities that would promote other fields. Suggestions for activities that cross mathematics and/or computer science with another discipline can be suggested.
